SWEET Nepal was established in 1997 as the result of a series of brainstorming sessions of few young people who wanted to change their society into a more democratic, well developed and a prosperous one.

Initially it aimed at enhanced capacity of local actors including NGOs/CBOs especially making efforts in emancipation of people from illiteracy & gender discrimination which were pertaining as the curse to the wider Nepali society. Working for a decade, it has emerged as one of the most familiar community support organization of Far West Region and a reliable collaborating partner of national and international advocacy and development organizations.

In the beginning SWEET Nepal has formed farmers women saving groups based on poor and disadvantaged people in Laxmipur VDC in Kanchanpur.
Gender Base Violence
According to Nepal Demographic Survey 2016, 66% of women who have experienced physical or sexual violence have not sought help to end the violence, nor have they shared their experiences.
Skill Development Training
The training is targeted towards single, unemployed or marginalized women from poor, needy or ethnically disadvantaged backgrounds, and residing in Far-west Nepal.
Nonformal education in Nepal began in 1951 when activities for literacy enhancement began as part of the national development.
Income Generating Activities
It has empowered target groups with skills and offered employment opportunities whereas in other hand it has generated resource for the sustainability of the project.
